    River’s Reach

    Reading Time: < 1 minute

One of those tracks where I devised the melody whilst noodling about with different sounds. Sometimes a particular sound, in this case a delayed synth guitar, almost writes it’s own way.

After meddling with it now and then for a few weeks I eventually removed the introduction completely and kept it pure as the original idea intended.

    Minor Miracles

    Reading Time: < 1 minute

The setting sun, a shallow stream,  a cool breeze, boats returning from distant adventure, flip-flops in the sand, palm trees overhead, and hope for a bright new dawn. Some night time chill.  Strings, bells, harp, choir, oboe and piano ambiance.

I actually wrote this for my sister-in-law when she was pregnant with her first child.

    Gregoria

    Reading Time: < 1 minute

Another long ambient tapestry from the early 90’s, a time period when I first got an Akai S950 sampler, and pillaged records for samples. Eschelon

    Reading Time: 3 minutes

An epic 10 minute ethnic ambient romp I put together in the early 90’s, a time period when I first got an Akai S950 sampler, and pillaged records for samples.

I took the bus and train from Sutton Coldfield where I was living with my landlady at the time down to London’s Turnkey Music store and carried the largest,

    Aviator

    Reading Time: < 1 minute

A track I still like quite a lot from the early 90’s.

I had only the Korg Wavestation SR as a good sound source at the time, which had about 4Mb of sampled sound on board (which wouldn’t get you a single piano key sample today) but which could play 32 sounds at the same time.
